Our First Shredding Bonanza

On Wednesday the 8th of February 2023 we held our first Shredding Bonanza at The Plot on Union Street. Thanks to our amazing hosts, Nudge Community Builders we were able to have this event without moving all of our equipment. We had around 8 people joining us for this event and managed to sort through lots of our plastics.

We were also able to borrow a plastic identifier from Plymouth University to help us with the sorting. This way we can make sure we don’t mix different types of plastic together before shredding and melting them to turn them into new products.

Calvin Bedford, a Stonehouse resident and photographer also popped in and took some photos of the event which he later kindly shared with us.

All the people that joined this event were able to come away with a product they had made on the day as a thank you for their effords.

On the 18th of March we held our second event.at the Scrapstore on Union Street. unfortunately this one was not as well attended but we still managed to sort and shred a lot of plastic on the day. We did welcome a few students from Plymouth University and they really enjoyed learning about the process and one of them has been back to use our machines in the creation of his own design. When this is ready and can be shown to the world we will share this with you on our website.

Thank you to everyone who came along!

We will hold more of these events in the near future.so keep an eye on our Eventbrite page which can be found through our linktree on instagram or by following this link
