Help us create an amazing carbon neutral plastic recycling community in Plymouth!
Precious Plastic Plymouth and Tavisock’s (PPPT) new crowdfunder will be going live on 26th November at 9:00am! The aim of the crowdfunder is to raise £3000, with a stretch goal of £20,000. The money raised will fund new machines to expand our making capabilities and also solar panels, that together with our pedal powered machines will mean we can move to carbon neutrality. Our stretch goal aims will allow us to purchase a CNC machine that will enable us to engineer project moulds in-house and increase our capabilities to produce parts and products for local people, designers, makers and businesses. Supporters that pledge funding, even a small amount, to the crowdfunder, will receive a reward/s from our beautiful Plymouth recycled product range that includes sets of buttons, designer soap dishes, multi purpose mini pots, a kitchen workshop or even opportunities to learn how to create your own objects.
Precious Plastic is a project started by Dave Kakkens which has become a global recycling movement. Our Plymouth and Tavistock branch became a Community Interest Company in October 2021. Our main activities involve recycling plastics donated by local Plymothians and making useful objects. We work with others such as Make Southwest (previously known as Devon Guild of Craftsmen) to make recycled membership buttons for the Green Maker Initiative. We provide demonstrations and workshop designers, and community groups for schools to educate and engage children with plastic recycling.
We have been supported by Plymouth Scrapstore, Real Ideas Organisation (RIO), Plymouth Octopus (POP), Smart Citizens and the EDRF project Low Carbon Devon. Please join us and pledge your support. Thank you!
