Help us create an amazing carbon neutral plastic recycling community in Plymouth!
In May Precious Plastic Plymouth was invited to the Devon County Show to be part of the Ocean Discovery zone. The invite had come from Dr Juliet Jackson from Seadream Education CIC. Follow the link to read more about their fantastic work.
The Ocean Discovery Zone is an outreach programme that travels the length and breadth of the Southwest, run by a team of professionals from conservationists to marine biologists, showcasing the wonders of the Ocean. It culminates in the large installation at Devon County Show and is one of the biggest features on the show-ground, where visitors are invited to engage in fun and meaningful activities and resources, designed to connect them to Devon’s wealth of coastal waters.
The Devon County Show was a huge success for Precious Plastics. Many people engaged and interacted with our project. Some paddled our bike and shredded our bottle tops others helped to injection mold the shredded plastic into cups, soapdishes and buttons. This simpleand low-tech for of recycling can be an eyeopenener for people.
Some children were amazed by the fact that in 20 minutes time one can go from bottle tops to new products. We also want to give a special thanks to Svitlana who came and helped us out for two days during the show.
